Porcelain Raft - Unless You Speak From Your Heart
Porcelain Raft wasn’t too much on my radar before I got to see him last year at SXSW, at the Transparent x Forest Family Recs showcase. Mauro Remiddi somehow transcends age, both physicality and musically. You can tell he’s no youngster, there’s something ‘lived’ about him, yet there somehow remains a freshness in his eyes.
From reading more about his life and experiences, it’s no wonder his music is as eclectic, solid, and enjoyable as it is. He directed this video for one of his more upbeat and infectious pop songs on his new album Strange Weekend out now on Secretly Canadian. You can stream the whole thing on his facebook.
Caged Animals - All the Beautiful Things in the World
It’s hard to believe that Jamie Harley didn’t peak a long time ago, but with new videos like this one, it’s obvious that he hasn’t. This beautiful rainbow of frolicking naked women nearly personifies the tracks title. The track lies within the album Eat Their Own, released late last year. And if the nudity doesn’t suit you, you can stick with the censored version here.
“All the beautiful things in the world that I want, are coming to me, are coming to me.”

A collaboration born over the veins of cyber-space, artistic savant Nathaniel, of Think or Smile, and the bold sound pioneer RxRy have very well reached inside of each other’s minds to create this trifecta of written word, moving image, and soundscape perfection.
All words you read were sculpted by Nathaniel. And know that the sounds you hear, RxRy created specifically for this project. All images were captured using a state of the art iPhone held against glass at the Shedd Aquarium in Chicago, Illinois. Now, please sit still, make this full screen and forget what your doing for five minutes and twenty seconds.
Inspired and the Sleep - Running
20 year old Max Greenhalgh, aka Inspired and the Sleep just simultaneously summed up his teenage years, and his first solo album. It’s appropriately named Teenager, and will be releasing sometime in the near future.
In the mean time, you can enjoy a few singles from the album. Running is a thoughtful, soft sounding melody. The naturalistic production is pretty impressive, perfectly blending that sweet ukulele, bongos, vocal layers, and who knows what other innovative sounds, to create the song as a whole. I’ll admit it’s a bit of a departure for me, and some of the stuff I post. But for some reason, watching this video and hearing this sound struck me.
The collective power of Mat Jones and Andrew Hamlet is what fuels Pressed And. A combination of pure experimentation, and just down right sexual impulse seems to pour from every track. And this video, directed by Land O’ Goshen is a perfect visual companion.
Get ready for the full album Imbue Up to drop this Friday on the beloved Crash Symbols.
