Stephen Farris just dropped his second full-length Cosmic Sound II. It’s up for free download, but there’s more. for just $12 you can purchase your own copy of a 60 minute VHS with visuals to accompany the entire album. Above is the intro just to give you a taste. I think this is perfect, and I’m glad Stephen is finally able to do this.
From back in the days, when he was known as Cosmic Sound he has been VHS-centric. And to now have an entire album represented on tape is just about the most appropriate thing I can think of.

Farris & Himself = Pitch Black
Man, there’s almost too much to say about this EP, this collaboration, the perfect fit of it all. Stephen Farris’ beats get a huge breath of hip-hop breathed into it’s lungs. And it’s so so sweet. Emcee Alex Cardenas has added new life to some already existing Farris beats, and some new ones, to create something so fresh yet timeless that it’s too good not to get behind.

I’m a huge fan of Stephen Farris, that’s no secret. With how talented the guy is, it’s easy to get behind him. With that said, he’s just put up a new EP on bandcamp. It’s 5 songs, but comes with 4 more bonus songs if you download the whole album. I know this is something I’ll be purchasing for sure. Can never have enough of those next level beats. I’ve been going crazy for Rocks and Rain.
Stephen Farris was kind enough to send over this new video and song for what’s going to be a very exciting release. He’s actually planning on doing a VHS release for his next album, because he is putting together visualizations, like this one for each song on the album! I don’t think I’ve heard of someone doing this. But it sounds awesome! You can definitely sign me up!
Stephen Farris = After a Moment
I was excited to receive something once again from the prolific beat maker, VHS nostalgia master Stephen Farris. You probably know him as Cosmic Sound, but he is no longer going by that moniker, rather by his “christian” name, simple as that. Though as you can tell by this brand new track, the name change has done nothing to change his dynamic sound.
He’s currently working on a release for Alpha Pup Records who definitely have it in with some heavier hitters. Be on the lookout!
