ANR’s dark and driving psychedelia really adds a new depth to Millionyoung’s Weak Ends. Even in the title alone, it is evident of a broken triumph. Something sweet, turned sour. Leaving you yearning for the light again.

Having just seen Millionyoung as they rolled through LA with Teen Daze, I’m super excited for their new material which is due out early next year.

We all know that the worst part about vacation, is coming back. I got back from nearly a 10 day vacation, and my head is still fully submerged in all these emails filled with great music for me to enjoy.
Driving back from San Francisco yesterday seemed to beckon a soundtrack of only Coma Cinema. It was a quiet and slow drive, one where you just sort of stare out the window lost in the movement of the vehicle, and what you are leaving behind.
I was very excited to come back to some amazing remixes of one of Mat’s newer tracks coming off what is fastly becoming my most coveted album Blue Suicide. Not too much longer until it’s out and ready for the world to enjoy. For now enjoy these three completely different takes on the same solid song.

An awesome remix of a current obsession of mine: Lord Huron. And by none other than friend and fellow cereal lover Teen Daze. Premiered over at awesome LA blog Rollo & Grady, that I regretfully haven’t even met yet. Make sure to check out the awesome pics he got of LH at Hotel Cafe, which was by far the best show I’ve been to there. Excited to see more of Lord Huron.

Ben Schneider (Lord Huron) just emailed me this fantastic remix of his single, “Into The Sun”. Teen Daze did the remix of the track in anticipation of Lord Huron’s 7″ release next Tuesday, November 16.

Active Child = Wilderness (Houses Remix)

Remixing someone like Active Child has to be one of the bolder moves an artist can make. Yet Houses makes this already grasping, operatic track into a percussive bounce-house fit for a clergy.
London based label Merok (tumblr) just posted a little mp3 bundle that included this gem, and I couldn’t resist. Looks like they have some exciting things going on over there, definitley a label to be watching.

GOBBLE GOBBLE = Lawn Knives (Teen Daze Remix)
Both projects separate and distinct. One a glitching raucous jolting you to dance and sweat, the other a pulsing grace either lulling you to a dream, or to the beach. Entire lives have been dedicated to the art of infusing one distinct ingredient with another in a way where they don’t just co-exist alongside one another, but exist as one. I’m really glad to see this collaboration take place. It couldn’t have turned out better.
