The-Dream - Fast Car (EXETER 88MPH Edit)

I stumbled across this pretty well endowed rework of 2007 debut release by none other than The-Dream himself. These bold reworks are always hit or miss, and in this case, Canada’s Evan Doyle hit the nail on the head. It was just the touch-up this older, yet still solid vehicle of bass needed.

Go download the new and improved on EXETER’s soundcloud.

Chrome Sparks - Still Sleeping (Flashlights remix)

I’m happy to give you a first listen, together with my friend Jake over at Speaker Snacks, to Chrome Sparks latest dream, Still Sleeping (featuring the sister Steffaloo) and it’s new gentle, yet thorough, rework by the Denver’s electro-pop swoon-inducing, Flashlights. There’s going to be a whole slew of these remixes set to release with the new year, so keep an eye on Chrome Sparks bandcamp

Also forthcoming, is a new Flashlights EP that is as bangin’ and full of awesome as an EP has ever been. So while you’re keeping one eye on Chrome Sparks bandcamp, keep the other eye on Flashlights bandcamp

Slow Magic

The date 11/11/11 comes around only once a century:

“There is nothing unusual about the time 11:11 or the date 11/11/11, but our brains can’t help noticing the repeating digits, and seeing them as meaningful. “Numbers that are already significant to us, such as calendar dates that also coincidentally fall into an obvious pattern, become doubly significant. 11/11/11 is another example of people doing what people are cognitively prone to do: find significance.”

I really can’t help but post up nearly each and every sound I hear from this mysterious project. Slow Magic released this as if he/she had no choice in the matter.

And if that wasn’t enough, another remix by Giraffage has been left at our doorstep, like the beautiful baby it is:

Slow Magic - Feel Flows (Giraffage Remix) by Giraffage

No Ceremony - Hurtlove (Dawn Golden and Rosy Cross remix)

I saw this video a couple weeks ago, and have been waiting for the download to make everything complete. Dreams were made reality today when RCRDLBL posted the mp3.

The video, directed by Dexter Tortoriello himself, is a beautiful companion to this thoughtful remix. The song seems to ebb and flow perfectly, as if drifting in and out of hurt and love.

Keep up with Dawn Golden and Rosy Cross: fcbk / tmblr

Lana Del Ray - Video Games (Balam Acab remix)

If everything Lana Del Rey did sounded like this, I don’t think anyone would have a problem with her. Internet buzz is a dangerous thing. Maybe it is all just sexy damsel gimmicks, maybe she will fade as fast as she blew up, maybe not.
