Patchwork - U Were In My Dreams (official video)

I’m so happy to give you the first look at the brand new video for one of my favorite up and coming producers, Patchwork. I recently posted this dream jam a few weeks ago, and these found images compliment the sounds perfectly. The sleeping children, the chilled out beach vibes. These are the things dreams are made of.

Get his debut EP, Changes on bandcamp now, or spring for the epic cassette from my pals at Purr Tapes (if there are any left).

Patchwork - U Were In My Dreams

Man, Patchwork has been on the evolutionary upswing big time lately. From the first time I was sent his music back in July, to just three months later, his sound has only gotten better. U Were In My Dreams is a sexy slow jam, taking conventions of sampled beat music and injecting an emotional aura into it.

Don’t forget to grab his most recent EP, Changes, here. And, even better, go grab it on cassette from the lovely Purr Tapes!

PURR TAPES PRESENTS: STATIC SPECTRUM
It’s become clear to me over the last couple months, that Purr Tapes are some of the finest musical and cassette tape purrveyors around. And if you weren’t convinced before, I think that STATIC SPECTRUM could help sway you. STATIC SPECTRUM is Purr Tape’s brand new compilation cassette “paying homage to modern electronic music”. It’s a vast 28-track journey of beats, synth, and more straight forward pop. It features young, up and coming artists, many of which you’ve read about here like snacs, Corduroi, FLASHLIGHTS, RUMTUM, Yume, and a so many more.
The tapes official release is on Halloween, but you can stream the whole bad-boy below, then head over to their Bandcamp and pre-order the cassette or pick up the digital right now!

Patchwork - Slow Night

I love seeing the very beginning of something. Being on the ground floor of any event carries this air of pride. Watching young producers emerge is no different. Garrett Lockhart is Patchwork, and he just released his debut EP, Changes

Slow Night is the opening track, easing you into the laid back 20 minute journey of experimental beats. Go name your own price for the EP here. And I’m really happy to say, the EP is being put on cassette by our friends at Purr Tapes, releasing Sept. 28th.

Patchwork - Cigarettes

Cigarettes is a fitting name for a song on my blog. This one comes from Nanaimo, a place I had to look up to know where was. Turns out it’s in British Columbia, Canada, kind of near Vancouver. Anyway, Patchwork is the fairly new musical project of Garrett Lockhart, with Cigarettes being the first single off a nearly finished EP. The sound is nice, it’s paced, never in a hurry to show you that it’s good, just consistent, and smooth throughout. That kind of consistency can be transcendent, the sort of gradual lift an airplane experiences in those first moments of takeoff.

I expect the EP to be as promising as this first track, so keep your eyes and ears out. Free download of Cigarettes at his bandcamp.
