Magical Mistakes - Supermoon Crashed featuring Mutual Benefit

Erik Luebs released his Special Friends EP today, and in doing so has unpigeon-holed himself from any constraints the word “producer” might have put on him. This EP is a collection of collaborations and remixes with people like Jordan Lee from Mutual Benefit, Lady Lazarus, and more.
Supermoon Crashed surprisingly melds these two totally different forms of making music. Erik’s thoughtful electronic production is married perfectly with Jordan’s more naturalistic instrumentation and swooning croon. I’m a fan of anything Magical Mistakes touches, but it’s nice to see him expanding his territory and collaborating with some other great artists.
Man, what a great moment in time SXSW was. Invisible Children took the “most creative” prize with their 25 artist in 4 days project. So many great artists took part in these gurilla performances, and the videos are just as stunning. I’ve been waiting for these to start trickling out, and they finally have.
Here’s my buddies Mutual Benefit taking to the trees, an all to natural habitat for them to croon their lovely song Here, off their first EP Drifting.
Go check out some others including Jesse Woods and Memoryhouse, and be on the lookout for more HERE.

Holy Spirits = To The Shore
I started my morning with this amazing visual representation of the new Holy Spirits track To The Shore. It comes to us off of the Father/Daughter Records split release with both Holy Spirits and Mutual Benefit. I just recieved mine the other day, and with artwork by Nathaniel Whitcomb himself, the record pretty much has every aspect of greatness going for it.
Visuals by Brianna Olson.

Mutual Benefit = I Saw The Sea
It’s a gift to receive music like this. Things get crazy, and we try to juggle a million things, carry on relationships, keep up in a digital age that moves faster than is possible to keep up with, have jobs, sleep, eat, maintain, maintain, maintain…
It’s hard to imagine anything can come in and affect you. Move you. But that’s what Jordan has done with this album. Invaded the chaos that is your life and provided just a minute of solace. And that is why the new album I Saw The Sea is a gift.
Go pick it up at bandcamp. And if you don’t donate, just go and watch the best Kickstarter video I’ve ever seen! Jordan is the greatest!
