And I thought I’d add something apropos :
Out of all the ways you can discover music, Shazaming something in Victoria Secret is probably near the bottom of the list. And if that sentence has just discredited the whole idea of this post, and maybe even my entire blog, I would completely understand. But I checked them out when I got home from the mall :( and really liked what I heard. They have this old school 60-esque vibe that is really great. The UK based band has been around since 1997, but the stuff that really caught my ear was their newest collaboration with The Focus Group. I picked up the album entitled ‘Broadcast & The Focus Group Investigate Witch Cults of the Radio Age’ and so far really dig the 23 track mix/album.
You can check out more about them on their blog or at their myspace.

COOLRUNNINGS - Buffalo EP
I just downloaded this little EP for FREE down at COOLRUNNINGS’ bandcamp. I suggest you do the same. It’s some pretty great stuff, and I’m really enjoying it thus far. So do it!

This is some seriously solid stuff. I played this, then realized it’s exactly what my day/hangover needed. Soothing dream-chill that makes me just want to sit and drift off somewhere else. It’s music that does the work for you, so you can just relax and enjoy. Don’t forget to check their myspace.

Neighborhood Choir - When My Heart Does Beat No More
My pal Joey put up a great post wrapping up some of the better tracks sent his way from fresh Philadelphia bands. I’m loving these guys (all their tracks on their myspaces are top-shelf). Dreamy, super catchy stuff.
What elcoyote says. It’s just so good. And mermaid rock?!
New video from Swedish mermaid-rockers jj. The song, “Let Go” is on their brand new album jj n° 3. I love this track. It’s really working nicely with my current Dylan craze. Download free here along with another new non-album track.
Catch them at the Echoplex on 4/17.
