Gold Panda has been getting some buzz lately, and thanks to my friends over at Dipped In Dollars, I finally have come around to giving them a fair listen. And, yeah, the buzz is worth while.
They just dropped the You EP featuring all sorts of remixes from the likes of Seams. It’s ethereal soaked magic just right for the coming summer.
Listen to “You” and go buy the EP at their website:
And keep your Friday a little wobbly with one of their older tracks:
As you know Transparent just announced the new release of Lonely Galaxy’s “EP1”. The shit is good, and you can download all four tracks right from Transparent, or you can pre-order the 10”.
Video for “Waiting”:
Not much else to be said:
“Red-raw, sparse and spectral but boasting sky-spanning sentiment and unbreakable emotion, Harry Granger Howell’s first record is an unperishable work of sore-hearted soul and rare beauty that we’re proud to put our name to.” - Transparent Blog
ps - listen to the Active Child remix of “Have a Heart” on their myspace.
Bobby Aherne is No Monster Club. He is one guy, from Dublin; and his music is as homemade and lo-fi as it get’s. But, that’s what’s so great about it. There’s something about music that simple, that rough, and still that fun that gives you hope in what the heart of music really is.
Anyway, he sent me a nice little heads up about his Tropical Decibels Volumes One and Two that’s dropping soon on cass/flick. Volume One is “dark lo-fi pop” and Volume Two is “bright jukebox-sampling pop”. All in all it’s just really good stuff.
And you can download Volume One right here and now!
From Volume One:
No Monster Club = The Outsider
No Monster Club = Danse Macabre
