Another week gone by, and strangely enough, good music did not stop being made. While maybe at times I’m too busy to sit down and post, I still get a chance to have these sounds in my ears at most moments in a day. I’m really thankful for that. Too many people are making really good music to not have a life that lets you listen to it.
So here I am, copping out once again, and posting up a big collection of some of my favorites from this week. From tasty electronic gems, to sweetly twisted R&B bangers, to those projects shrouded in mystery ~ I AM UNKNOWN
Let these be your companion this weekend. A lot more after the jump. I love you.

Future Dollars - Yul Brynner as Ramses
The innovative sounds of Columbus, Ohio’s Way Yes draw you in like a moth to the flame. As each track burns on, you find yourself in a trance, paralyzed by those looping samples, stunting guitar rifts, and perfectly steady rhythm. Important is off their upcoming Walkability EP out March 27th, on Lefse. The EP come equipped with a slew of remixes featuring Rimar, RUMTUM, Larry Gus, Monster Rally, and, of course, First Person Shootr (who’s debut EP you can stream here). Pretty stacked list.
First Person Shootr’s smooth reworking of Important sets the bar high for these remixes, which I’m sure will all deliver. He stamps his signature R&B flavor over the whole thing, and sexes it out in ways you didn’t know were possible. Go pre-order the EP here, and enjoy the tracks below until March 27th rolls around.
Great dudes collaborating with great dudes, with a ton of great dudes involved. That’s the only way I can describe the debut cassette release for UK clothing company, Forty Ounce Clothing. They do an amazing job of not just making some killer peicies to put on your body, but of teaming up with artists and bloggers to help integrate music into their identity. If you remember, I put together a mix for them when they released my sister Steffaloo’s shirt.
This time around, they are teaming up with one of our all-time favorite labels, Crash Symbols. The product is a unique and amazing cassette release in conjunction with a brand new, specially designed Crash Symbols t-shirt. Exclusive tracks from the likes of Born Gold (an obscure remix by Teen Daze), Coma Cinema, Blackbird Blackbird, Monster Rally, Moon Bounce and a whole lot more.
Go pick up the shirt here, and get with it a free cassette of this painfully good mix below:
Monster Rally & RUMTUM - Raindrops

This is truly a collaboration made in heaven. A tropical, beat-laden heaven. Premiered on YVYNYL yesterday, I was overly excited to see that this wasn’t a one track wonder. But rather nice long EP, getting the full Waaga treatment. You can pre-order the nine song EP, which releases in February, here.
Massive (FREE) Music Round-up :: Last Week
Last week I started a new job; this, among other things, left little time to partake in the precious internet as I usually do. Luckily, things have quieted down, and I’ve had some time to breath this weekend and catch up a bit on what happened last week.
So I’ve decided to just do a massive recap of great things I found through my email, through my friends, and just through life itself.

Monster Rally released a new four-track digital 7” called Color Sky. I suggest you download it as one last stitch effort to hold onto summer. It’s hard to go wrong with his vintage surf sampled rhythms.

New tracks from UK glo-fi operation Warm Waves. The mini EP is called Sunset and it will chill you out and carry you into the sunset with ease.
Also check out their previous EP Lifted.

Seapony is impecable at delivering sunny garage-pop jams. This self titled four-track EP Seapony is a delightful mix between a Best Coast and a Blue Hawaii vibe.

Beautiful gazing homemade pop from Australia. Wintercoats just released this precious EP Cathedral. Swooning severely to this EP as we speak.

This self titled album by Sea Oleena is one of those you put on and constantly get pulled out of your work by what you’re hearing. I went back several times to mark what song was playing. It’s soft, it’s light, and it’s profound.
You can pay what you want (which also means free, but come on, throw them some $$) for this album at their bandcamp.
