Efterklang at Spaceland last night was something I really needed, and honestly every bit as good as I could have imagined it being.
They are such a pure band who obviously love and believe what they are doing. I got to thank them all personally, and everyone of them was gracious and overwhelmingly appreciative. They are a band that pulls out all the bad things about what music and that industry can be in some instances, and iconisizes (maybe not a word) everything it should be.
I’m truly thankful for them, and would not miss them if you can help it.
An amzing video from 4AD and their new 4AD Sessions. This third installment features one of my favorites: Efterklang. Their new album Magic Chairs just released the beginning of this week and is great. I’m catching them at Spaceland on March 16th and am pretty excited for it.
The music scene in Copenhagen seems like a really unique thing that I wish we could see more of everywhere. Everyone loving, playing, and sharing together freely. That is music.
Efterklang = Modern Drift
“A music video for the song Modern Drift by the Danish band Efterklang. Made by Danish multi-artist Kristian Leth.
The new music video is based on Dyrehaven, den Romantiske Skov, a film from 1970 by the acclaimed artists Per Kirkeby and Jørgen Leth (Kristian’s father). The film geek will know that the album title Magic Chairs draws on inspiration from another film by Jørgen Leth.
Modern Drift is the opening song on Efterklang third studio album. Magic Chairs will be released on February 22nd 2010 on Efterklangs own Rumraket label in Scandinavia and on 4AD outside of Scandinavia.”
Efterklang :: Modern Drift
Efterklang just released a track from their up-coming 3rd album Magic Chairs. It’s to be released Feb. 22nd, which isn’t soon enough if you ask me.
