Toro Y Moi = Still Sound (Comanche Remix)

There is a myriad of Still Sound remixes flying around the interweb right now thanks to Gorilla vs Bear’s remix contest.

Comanche, made up of Crimson and Chief (half of my amazing blog friends Dipped In Dollars) has consistantly proven themselves some of the most competent and solid producers around. Debuting their Indian Summer EP just 6 or so months ago. This remix exhibits their talents in full measure, and certainly whets the appetite for the promised work to come.

Did I forget any?

Buffalo Moon = Beach Boy
Gorilla vs. Bear just posted about these Minneapolis hailing musicians making some pretty delightful 60s summer jam-esque stuff. Like The Morning Benders “Excuses” mixed with Cults jams with the surf lyrics of The Drums all in one. All in all some great stuff to add to the summer (anytime) repertoire; which in any case, I am thankful for.
They have a cassette out right now with Moon Glyph you can snag for $6. And now that GvsB has posted about them, I’m sure those will go a bit faster. Click the photo for their myspace.

You should know a few things about Beach House.
Their new album Teen Dream comes out on Janruary 26th.
However, you can listen to the entire album on NPRs First Listen series right now.
Amazing music blog Gorilla vs. Bear will be, for one week (this week), featuring a new video from their DVD which will accompany the album. The DVD contains a music video for each song; every video directed by someone different. Don’t miss these.
