Ryan Trott = Gentle Eyes (For Daisy)
Ryan Trott normally makes his perfectly gentle pop music, that’s sweet enough to eat, and soft enough to snuggle, with his band Family Trees currently on the lovely Father/Daughter roster. But with all his spare time at being awesome he had time to birth some solo stuff.
And what was born? Spirit Home was. A beautifully pleasant 8 song EP that is totally free. Hope we here more of this great project.

Let’s Get Together__

I’ve been sitting on this mix for a little while now. It all came together quite nicely, and I’ve been letting it settle in my musical stomach. And it seems the time has come to let everyone help me digest it.
Now a few things you must know about this mix; it’s filled with some serious summer tunes I’ve had on constant rotation for some time now, most significantly during my time home for my little brother’s high school graduation, where my entire family was home for the first time in almost two years. So I thought it appropriate to name it likewise. Second of ly, the mixtape you’re about to download is my first go at a “continuous” mix. I even experimented with a bit of sampling and transitions. Pretty novice stuff, but none the less a step in the right direction.
So ‘right-click’ on the track below to get the 55 minute continuous track. And click the big DOWNLOAD to get the individual tracks.

With Father/Daughter Records shipping out their Family Trees 7” this week it gave me reason to peruse their up coming releases. That’s when I found tooth ache.. And make sure you don’t forget the period, that’s supposed to be there.
tooth ache. is Alexandria Hall, who hails from Vermont, where she encompasses the lonely innovation of Annabel Alpers and the wafting angel-like voice of Ra from Blue Hawaii. The 7” is due out on Father/Daughter August 17th, and details about pre-order will soon follow. It looks like we can be expecting some great things from Father/Daughter as so far, in my book, they are two-for-two.
Brooklyn’s Family Trees is christening new label Father/Daughter Records with a vinyl release due June 29th. The three song 7” is gonna be pressed on a nice clear vinyl, and perfectly prepared to deliver us the beach-chillin swim-jams that “Dream Talkin’” is dishing out. Go pre-order that business right over at their store. Only 400 vinyls being pressed.
