Paperfangs = Violet (Kiss Kiss Fantastic Cover)
Paperfangs recently teamed up with awesome blog EardrumsPop to produce an awesome three song EP. There is a load of stuff included in the download, including a digital booklet of info on the band and the project. Ever since I posted about their song Books a while back, I have been excited to hear more. What really topped it off for me though was the cover of blog favorite and miniature person award winner Kiss Kiss Fantastic’s Violet.
Go download the EP and more over at EardrumsPop now!

Looks like we have a new EP coming from LA folk shamans, Lord Huron. Their three song EP Into The Sun has been mesmerizing me for months and after a quick visit to their site today, I found this little gem hiding in the main page. They’re currently hanging around CMJ, but have a few show’s lined up here in LA in early November, so make sure to get em somewhere.
I’ve been totally washed away this morning by the soothing sounds of Canada’s Memory Screen. Tipped off by Neon Canyon’s twitter, I started listening to their new self titled EP, and have been surprised at how enjoyable it is. The six songs are like one long swim in an ocean of comfort and melody. Cold in only the way where it feels good, warm in all the rest. Complicated; and simply beautiful. Please go grab it.
Can’t suggest this more strongly. Also check out their label Silent Farm, out of Denver, for other great artists and releases. Looks like they have a pretty awesome thing going on.

memory screen ep is limited to 100 cassettes, with each cassette being packaged within a poster by artist Tyler Los-Jones. you may also download the album for free. ![]()

BAnanas Symphony released their first EP back in July, if you recall, titled Dumb Teenage Love that consisted of two pleasing, scaled-back chill-wave jams. After that, a three song EP release called Vino, that takes yet another angle at the genre, an almost sophisticated one. And lastly, just today, an EP Wars was posted. Three tracks that do everything but sound cohesive with the previous two releases. Almost entirely acoustic, each heavily instrumental track fades perfectly into the next as if there were only one track instead of three. It’s raw, but gentle; graceful and soulful. Highly recommended.
Stream the EP below and download the business at bandcamp.
