Monster Rally & RUMTUM - Raindrops

This is truly a collaboration made in heaven. A tropical, beat-laden heaven. Premiered on YVYNYL yesterday, I was overly excited to see that this wasn’t a one track wonder. But rather nice long EP, getting the full Waaga treatment. You can pre-order the nine song EP, which releases in February, here.

Glass Vaults - Golden

Fitting of their New Zealand landscape, Glass Vaults make such expansive and adventurous music, like some soundtrack to your tour of Middle Earth. Their new EP, Into Clear is four long and textured tracks, full of enough nuance and emotional terrain to completely engulf you. I’m sure you’ll have that distinct feeling of waking up as the last fuzzy drone of this EP fades.

Into Clear is out on wax and CD on JUKBOXR, and can be downloaded for the price of your choosing on bandcamp

Kodak to Graph - Zolembu

I stumbled across this yesterday morning when my buddy Jimmy posted up the lead track Express / Cause. It’s off of the brand new Kodak to Graph EP, Visio’l, which is out now on Bad Panda Records. Oh and did I mention it’s free?!

From start to finish, the EP soundtracks life in the sleepy town of Pensecola, FL where Michael Maleki lives. And having lived in Florida for some time myself, I can tell you, he’s doing the place a favor. The production is impressive, and the sounds are thoughtful and smooth.

Grab the EP for free, and listen to what started it all below. There are Jackson 5 samples…enough said.

I Keep Holding On by Kodak to Graph

I recently started contributing to an amazing new Los Angeles based blog - Los Angeles I’m Yours. And my first post is featuring a brand new EP from LA based Flashing Red Lights. Here’s what I had to say below, but go check out the beautiful site for yourself.

Mack Slevin is the man behind LA based project, Flashing Red Lights. It’s not singer/songwriter, it’s not rock and roll, it’s not electro…or maybe it’s all of those things. And Mack has somehow figured out how to marry them all, into one big polygamist family of sound.Flashing Red Lights is raw as it is innovative, and it’s nice to hear something that doesn’t sound like something another kid learned how to make on his laptop.
His brand new EP, Faster Horses is out and ready for your consumption. It’s three songs full of experimental ingenuity that is simultaneously familiar, and like nothing you’ve heard before.
