Efterklang = Modern Drift

“A music video for the song Modern Drift by the Danish band Efterklang. Made by Danish multi-artist Kristian Leth.

The new music video is based on Dyrehaven, den Romantiske Skov, a film from 1970 by the acclaimed artists Per Kirkeby and Jørgen Leth (Kristian’s father). The film geek will know that the album title Magic Chairs draws on inspiration from another film by Jørgen Leth.

Modern Drift is the opening song on Efterklang third studio album. Magic Chairs will be released on February 22nd 2010 on Efterklangs own Rumraket label in Scandinavia and on 4AD outside of Scandinavia.”

Efterklang rule all that is Danish

Efterklang is a practically magical band from Copenhagen. Their musical DVD “Performing Parades,” which this clip is from, just got voted best music DVD of 2009. You should buy it here (or on Amazon here). They make some seriously unreal music that will definitely blow your mind.

And on February 23rd they release their third album Magic Chairs. They will be touring, and making a stop in LA the 16th of March at Spaceland. There is something really special about the non-scene of the Danish music scene, and Efterklang is a perfect example of the pure spirit that many of the bands over their are bringing to music. We can only hope that the attitude spreads.

And here is their new single “Modern Drift” off of Magic Chairs again:

Efterklang = Modern Drift

Efterklang :: Modern Drift

Efterklang just released a track from their up-coming 3rd album Magic Chairs. It’s to be released Feb. 22nd, which isn’t soon enough if you ask me.
