Soft Cat = Blackbird

I’ve been sick most of the week. The kind of sick that just kinda takes the wind out of your sails, that get’s you down. It’s ironic, it hasn’t felt more summery that it has this week, yet I’ve forcibly been in a quite autumn mood. So when Peter posted this song by Soft Cat yesterday, it all just came together for me. It was a perfect manifestation of how I’d been feeling. In a way, I think it probably healed me a little bit. 

Turns out they have an album coming out on Friends Records this fall, and it couldn’t come fast enough. It’s called Wild Space, and according to Neil Sanzgiri “Any concentration of wilderness, growth, or life contained in a surviving ecosystem located in an urban setting is known as Wild Space. It is a non-domesticated area existing and dwelling as arcane emptiness. Wild Space creates fear from the unknown yet gives context to conformability. Organisms grow and cultivate while going unnoticed. Wild Space serves as the in between spaces in our lives.”
