Renny Wilson - By and By

A film starring Hall & Oates set on a cruise ship with Donna Summer playing the woman of interest. Competition for her love nearly tears them apart, but they soon find out she and her accomplice, played by Paul McCartney, are plotting to sink the ship! Also, Al Green is the ships’ resident crooner.
If you could imagine anything happening in the background to this song, it would be the description above. The alto sax setting the mood to ~smooth~. Then the bass-line drops and anchors us in rhythmic reality. And finally, Rene’s vocals come in, pushing the whole thing over the edge , forcing you beyond reaction, and into pure catharsis.
This is the first listen at Rene’s new upcoming full-length. Changing his name from Sugarglider,to the now reinvented Renny Wilson. Today is 4/20, and this song is exactly 4 minutes and 20 seconds. Think about it. Enjoy, and be on the lookout for his full length coming next month!
There’s something happening out there.
Boston via Dallas producer LiL TExAS just sent over this hot little piece Miss Do Right. Proving once and for all that the future of dirty trap exists. And it is alive and well within this burgeoning crew of young producers out in Boston.
I was first introduced to LiL TExAS a few weeks ago with the release of the first ever M|O|D crew compilation tape. The gang consists of five artists LiL TExAS, Trap Arnold (previously), Young Satan, C.Z., and Rewrote. And believe me, there is more to come…a whole lot more, so throw back the rest of that trippy-mane syrup and stayyy tunnedd…

Bad Passion - Get Results
We get results, living on the edge we doin’ it slow; Bad Passion don’t have to try, if anyone calls we’ll eat them alive
You might think those wannabe bad asses, drinking tea, doing whacked out tai chi, and sharing banana’s are just a couple of push overs. But clearly, this video show’s that their methods “get results”. And that’s more than you can say of your hot-headed intimidation tactics.
Grab their EP, Doin’ It Slow here, and see if by listening to it enough, you might become as awesome as these two guys.

warui kettei - Pressure
At the beginning of this week, my buddy Tyler, from Flashlight Tag, posted up this obscure and lonely tune. It’s a five minute and thirty six second journey that fades in slowly, and never seems to go where you think it will. The sampling warped in the most subtle and gentle ways at every turn.
Pressure builds, and releases. An ebb and flow that is hard to master as we go through this life. This balance is true of so much of life, that the internalizing of it requires it’s practice. Life lessons folding in on themselves.

Newtimers - January Love (yus remix)
This is my contribution to the latest PORTALS Monthly Mixtape Series that just released today!
I’ve been wanting to share this ever since Phoenix, AZ project yus sent it over last week. Their remix of the Stockholm based Newtimers MJ-esque jam January Love sounds nothing like the original. It’s thick, and repetitive - with samples of January Love sprinkled in here and there. They’ve reinvented it so much you’d almost think they birthed something new, entirely. But listen close enough, and you’ll see that it’s in there.
Highly suggest using headphones. Go grab this, along with the PORTALS Monthly Mixtape, here.
